EP 346: The Ultimate Round Table

Description

Hey girls and boys, ladies and gents. In 4 years of doing the podcast I have met some amazing hunters. Some truly talented and driven individuals. Today I sit down with what I would consider the best of the best. Today’s podcast is with a group of guys that I personally look up to and push me to be better, and more driven. These guys are all some of my best friends and yet have very different styles and approaches, yet that is precisely what makes this round table so amazing. That and the combined ego at this table is absolutely zero. When I first posed this concept to the guys they all had their reservations and none of them really knew each other other than through myself. I couldn’t be happier with how the discussion turned out and just as I predicted everyone melded together really well. My goal is to make this a regular staple on the podcast and get this group of killers together once a month or so for an epic round table discussion, but also to answer listener questions. If you guys have topics or questions for the group, please email info@therichoutdoors.net or send a direct message to the podcasts Instagram @therichoutdoorspodcast. Without further ado, I bring you one of the most solid group of guys assembled on a podcast. Oh, and a big congratulations to Ben and his wife, since the time of this recording, they had their new baby boy, congrats you guys! Show Notes:  Introduction – 06:33 The Meaning of “Hunting as a Lifestyle”- 12:00 Your Competitive Edge – Mental & Physical Toughness – 18:09 Ben’s Story on Frustration & Mental Endurance – 23:40 The Devil & Angel on Your Shoulders – 29:14 Defining Your Style & Finding What Works – 41:25 Ben Tells a Relative Story – 42:10 A Piece of Advice from Each – 53:48 Closing Comments to the Listeners – 64:05 This podcast is brought to you by a new sponsor and a cool piece of gear that I am excited to share with you guys. Based right here in Bozeman the Montana Bow Sling is a is something I have been using for the last year or so. One of the cool things I really like about the Montana Bow Sling is that it can attach directly to virtually any hunting pack, using the existing webbing, or just connect to itself, like a traditional bow sling. Some guys like slings and some don’t, but I definitely like having one. Whether just covering ground midday or just being able to glass without having to set my bow down they come in really handy. The downside to most slings is that it is one more thing to keep track of and carry. The cool thing with the Montana Bow sling is that it is always attached to my pack so I don’t have to put it away, get it out, or anything in between. On top of that, it only weighs 6-8 ounces depending on what style you go with. Like I mentioned I used this sling all last season and like how it is always available, easy to use and not in the way. Overall a really good piece of gear. Check them out at www.creativeoutdoorsmt.com and use code TRO for 20% off. Today’s podcast is brought to you by Backcountry Fuel. It is that time again, time to start stocking up the food stash in prep for hunting season. If you have been thinking about signing up now is the time there are only 5 or 6 boxes between now and archery season. So if you plan to stock up the time to start preparing for season is now not the week before season. I may be biased because it is my box but I love getting the box because first and foremost I now always have snacks and bars when Kels and I go for a hike or off on a trip. I have also found so many cool products from the box,
